Getting Old Railway Carriages Back On Track

An article on Saturday 24th January in the Nottingham Post talks about the fact for 15 years volunteers have been lovingly restoring rare 19th-century train carriages which are now almost ready to get back on the tracks.

The original Great Central Railway train, dating back to 1888, was found derelict in a Cambridgeshire garden at the turn of the Millennium.

A World In Miniature At St Albans Model Railway Exhibition

An article by  in the Herts Advertiser talks about the event, organised by the Chiltern Model Railway Association, saw around 3,000 train enthusiasts turn up to the Albans Arena on both Saturday and Sunday.

Visitors were entertained with a number of demonstrations and exhibits and were given tips on how to improve their own modelling skills.

Model Railway On Track For Malahide Return

An article by Pat O’Rourke in today’s Dublin People talks about the fact that one of the Europe’s largest miniature railways is returning to the Northside.

In 2011, the Fry Model Railway was moved from a site in the grounds of Malahide Castle because of a major redevelopment programme being undertaken. It was dismantled and placed in storage until a permanent site could be found.
