Fareham & District MRC – Fareham Railex
October 3, 2015 @ 10:00 am - October 4, 2015 @ 4:30 pm
Fareham Railex is at a NEW LARGER VENUE this year allowing the club to build on the success over the past 2 years at Lakeside. There will be a large selection of working model railways in all of the popular scales and gauges and these will be supported by a large model railway trade presence.
Our thanks to Squires for their support in this show.
Accompanied Children go FREE.
Getting to the exhibition:
There is a car park at the Leisure Centre which offers 3 hours free parking. There are other town centre car parks nearby or you can park at the railway station all day for £2 (correct at the time of writing) and use our free bus service to get to the exhibition.
For those of you coming to Fareham by train or parking at the railway station, our friends at the Southampton and District Transport Heritage Trust will once again be running a free bus service to and from the show. This year there is a Free bus service from Fareham Railway station to the venue and the bus will pick up in the station forecourt. The service will run at 30 minute intervals on both days starting at 09:45 from the station and the last one will return to the station after the show closes each evening. A full timetable is available here.
FirstBus route F2 also runs past the Leisure Centre between Fareham Bus Station and Hill Park on Saturday only, there is no Sunday service on this route. This service runs hourly from 08:00 until 15:00. Return buses are due at approximately 28 minutes past the hour until 15:28 with a last bus at 16:58.
Getting into the show:
Payment for admission to the show will be at the main entrance to the venue, where Leisure Centre staff will issue entrance tickets. These tickets will be available from 09:00 in the morning; however access into the exhibition will not be possible until 10:00 each morning. It does mean that you can enjoy a cup of coffee in the café area before entering the exhibition if you arrive before we open without having to wait in a queue outside!
The exhibition hall is at a lower lever accessed down a set of stairs past the café area and a lift is available for our less mobile visitors.
