I built this photo plank last year, based on the entrance exit to Old Oak Common engine shed, initially as a club project. I saw a picture of Nunney Castle and thought it would make a great photographic back drop.Engines, Oak Oak, Railway

The Gloucestershire & Warwickshire Railway in association with the Heritage Railway magazine produced one of the best, if not the best railway Gala I have had the pleasure to visit. Their ‘Speed to the West’ gala over the late May Bank Holiday was a spectacular triumph.
I recall as a child the excitement of boarding a train to go away on my summer holidays. THE GWR truly re-created this experience for me again, with memorable trains such as the ACE (Atlantic Coast Express) and the Cornishman. With around thirty movements packed into a day’s schedule it was a very ambitious timetable, but every train I travelled on, departed on time. If only we could say the same of to-days modern railway.Engines, Gala, GWR, Pacifics, Steam
